AWS Datadog Agent Integrations

Table of Contents

Overview

The AWS cloud pipeline collects CloudWatch metrics and logs from the AWS control plane without an agent.

The Datadog Agent ships integrations that can be used to monitor various AWS Services as well.

The Datadog Agent forwards that telemetry to Kloudfuse alongside everything else it collects. Because Kloudfuse is protocol-compatible with Datadog, compatible integrations work unchanged; see Datadog Agent Integrations for how integrations work.

These integrations target specific AWS services. There are many other AWS services not covered here (for example, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL). This is not a comprehensive list of every AWS service that can be monitored; it covers only services that require a specific implementation.

These Agent integrations complement — they do not replace — the AWS cloud pipeline. Use the cloud pipeline for broad CloudWatch coverage of managed services, and these checks for deeper, product-specific metrics where the Agent can reach the service.
