Events

Events capture discrete changes to a target system — a deployment rolling out, a pod restarting, a login attempt, an alert firing. Unlike metrics, which sample a value over time, an event is a single point-in-time record with a message, a source, and a level (info, warning, or error). They add context that’s hard to get from metrics or logs alone: a spike in error rate is easier to explain when you can see the deployment event that lines up with it.
