RUM Applications

RUM > Applications is where you register the frontend applications you want to monitor. Every application listed here has its own applicationId and clientToken, which you pass to the RUM SDK during instrumentation.

Applications List

The list shows every registered application, with its Name, Type (web, flutter, ios, android, or react-native), ID, whether it collects client IP addresses, and its Client Token.

Create an Application

  1. Click Create application in the top right.

  2. In the Create application dialog, fill in:

    Name

A name for the application. This becomes the service value in the SDK configuration, and cannot contain white space.

    Type

Web, Flutter, iOS, Android, or React Native.

    Collect Client IP

Checked by default. Controls whether RUM records the originating client IP address on events from this application.

  3. Click Create.

The new application appears in the list with a generated Application ID and Client Token.

View an Application’s Integration Code

Click a row in the Applications list to open its detail panel. It shows:

Type

The application type selected at creation.

Application ID

The applicationId value to use in the SDK configuration.

Client token

The clientToken value to use in the SDK configuration.

Collect client IP

A Yes/No toggle — the only field you can change after creation.

Integration code

A dropdown to pick the target platform (Web, Flutter, React Native, and so on) and a ready-to-copy code snippet, pre-filled with this application’s applicationId, clientToken, and service.

Copy the snippet from Integration code and use it to initialize the RUM SDK — see RUM Setup for the full configuration reference for each platform.

Delete an Application

In the Applications list, click the Delete (…) menu at the end of the application’s row, then Delete Application.

Deleting an application does not delete RUM events already ingested under its applicationId — it only stops new events from that ID from being associated with a named application in the UI.
