Application Performance Index (Apdex)

Apdex is a quantitative metric that measures user satisfaction with an application’s response time, based on a set metrics including average response time, peak response time, and CPU usage. Apdex bridges the gap between technical metrics and user experience by creating a uniform way to analyze and report on how well an application’s performance meets user expectations.

Apdex helps companies agree on what "performance" means across multiple teams, applications, and services. It provides a clear, numerical representation of user satisfaction.

Application Performance Management (APM) often uses Apdex scores.

Apdex scores range from 0 to 1, with 1 being the highest user satisfaction rating and 0 being the lowest.
