Metrics time interval and granularity
The default reporting time interval in Metrics Explorer is for the preceding 1 hour. Kloudfuse also calculates the granularity of the graph based on the time interval.
Change the time interval
To change the reporting time interval:
-
Click the Last hour selector at the top right of the interface.
-
In the Calendar picker, change the From and To parameters.
Notice that the default settings are for the last 1 hour. This change is to report data for the last 3 hours:

To use a Quick range, click on one of the options: Last 5 minutes, Last 15 minutes, Last 30 minutes, Last Hour, Last 3 hours, Last 6 hours, Last 12 hours, Last day, or Last 7 days.
When using Quick ranges, Kloudfuse draws the chart immediately, and you don’t have to Apply Time Range.
-
Click Apply Time Range.
Change time format
To specify local time you use in the browser, toggle the Disable UTC selector.
To switch from local time to UTC, toggle the Enable UTC selector.
Change step size
Kloudfuse automatically adjusts the size of steps (the granularity of the graph) based on the time interval in the chart. You can override this setting.
Here, we start with the side-by-side metric and formula display of metrics a: aws_logs_call_count
and b: aws_logs_error_count
, and the formula 1: (b/a)100
, demonstrated in the Add formula section. The time interval is *Last hour.
To change the step size, follow these steps:
-
Click the Steps option of the metric.
Here, change the step size for the metric
aws_logs_call_count
. -
Notice the default step size, and change it to what you require.
Here it is 20 seconds.
Change the step size to 60 seconds.
-
Observe how the graph for the metric changes with new step size.
-
If you click the (Delete) icon, the step size reverts to the default.
