Manage Policies

Policies are filters that determine the access that users and group have to various assets and artifacts of their organization.

Policies must have unique names.

When a user has multiple policies due to membership in multiple groups, these policy filters apply as an intersection; Kloudfuse uses the AND logical operator.

To manage policies, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Admin tab, and then the Policies option in the drop-down menu.

    Navigate to the Policies interface
  2. The Policies interface appears.

Using the Policies interface

The Policies interface has the following information and affordances:

  1. The create policy (Create policy) button to specify a new policy. See Create a Policy.

  2. Search bar to locate specific policies, by Policy name or Stream.

  3. List of existing Policies.

  4. Bulk and individual action selectors.

    When you select several or all policies in the list, Kloudfuse displays a bulk Delete option. See Delete a Policy and Bulk Delete.

  5. Sort for the Policy list, on the Policy name, Streams, or Data Access Rule.

  6. Hover over the policy you plan to Change, and click its name; Edit policy details appears.

    Use this to make changes to the policies.

  7. Specify the number of rows you can see on each page.

  8. Navigate across pages by clicking individual page numbers, or forward (forward) and backward (backward) arrows.

Create a Policy

To create a new policy, follow these steps:

  1. Click Create Policy (Create Policy).

  2. The Create Access Policy interface appears.

  3. Specify the policy:

    Blank policy specification
    Name

    Name of the policy

    Access type

    Custom (default), All, or None.

    Stream scope

    Depending on the choice of Access Type, specify the stream scope:

    • All streams

    • Logs

    • Metrics

    • Events

    • APM

    • RUM

    Key

    Define the filter for the policy, specifying the Key, Operator, and Value.

    To use multiple filters for the same policy, click Add filter, and define the new filter.

  4. Click Create (Create).

  5. The new policy appears in the list.

Change a Policy

To change an existing policy, follow these steps:

  1. Hover over the policy you plan to Change, and click its name; Edit policy details appears.

  2. In the Edit policy details interface, you can change all fields.

    New name of the policy

    Access type

    Custom (default), All, or None.

    Stream scope

    Depending on the choice of Access Type, specify the stream scope:

    • All streams

    • Logs

    • Metrics

    • Events

    • APM

    • RUM

    Key

    Define the filter for the policy, specifying the Key, Operator, and Value.

    To use multiple filters for the same policy, click Add filter, and define the new filter.

  3. Click Save (Save).

  4. The changed policy appears in the list.

Delete a Policy

To delete a policy from the list, follow these steps:

  1. Hover over the policy you plan to delete.

  2. Click the Delete (Delete) icon.

  3. In the confirmation window, click Delete to confirm that you want to remove the entire policy from the system.

  4. Kloudfuse confirms that the policy is deleted successfully.

Bulk Delete

Alternatively,

  1. Select one or more folders using the checkbox to the left of the folder row.

  2. Kloudfuse displays the number of selected folders and a Delete button.

  3. Click Delete, and follow the these steps.
